Vote for the Varsity 845 boys track and field players of the week

The Varsity 845 boys track and field athletes of the week poll is online for April 20-26 and April 27-May 3. Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845 and nominations. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon. The poll is open to Orange, Ulster and Sullivan county athletes.

One athlete per school per track and per field is allowed per week.

The winners from the last poll were Robert Labarbera of Minisink Valley; Nicholas Doran of Monroe-Woodbury; Roman D’Alfonso of Newburgh; and, Jeron Underwood of Newburgh.

Nicholas Doran, Monroe-Woodbury

The senior won the 2,000 meter steeplechase in 6:14.40 at the Crusader Relays on May 1, ranking No. 3 in the state.

Isaiah Gonzalez, Warwick

The junior won the 200 meters in 22.13 seconds at the Ahearn Classic on May 2, ranked No. 17 in the state.

Justin Moses, Pine Bush

The junior won the 400 meters in 49.77 seconds at the Race at the Oval Office on May 2, ranking No. 22 in the state.

Ojani Rodriguez, Washingtonville

The junior won the 110 meter hurdles in 14.77 seconds at the Crusader Relays on May 1, ranking No. 10 in the state.

Ilunga Salerno, Cornwall

The senior won the 400 meter hurdles in 57.39 seconds at the Crusader Relays on May 1, ranking No. 21 in the state.

Nathaniel Diemoz, Wallkill

He won the 1,600 meters in 4:15.78 at the Kingston Tiger Relays on April 25, ranking No. 7 in the state.

George Gachechiladze, Monticello

He won the 400 hurdles in 59.79 seconds at the Marlboro Iron Dukes Relays on April 24.

Robert Labarbera, Minisink Valley

He won the 200 meters in 22.09 seconds in a dual meet with Washingtonville on April 21, ranked No. 15 in the state.

Jaden Robertson, Pine Bush

The senior won the 400 meter hurdles in 57.19 seconds in a dual meet with Newburgh on April 21, ranking No. 18 in the state.

Cameron Snyder, Washingtonville

The senior won the 100 meters in 10.77 seconds at the Iron Duke Relays on April 24, ranked No. 10 in the state.

Luke Beattie, Warwick

The senior set the top state mark in pole vault at 17 feet, 2.25 inches, at the Ahearn Classic on May 2. He also won the 100 meters in a state-best 10.52 seconds.

Marco Joeachin, Pine Bush

The junior won the triple jump at 45 feet, 11 inches in a dual meet with Kingston on April 28, ranking No. 9 in the state.

Kane Poje, Tri-Valley

The junior won the shot put at 58 feet, 3 inches, at the Tri-Valley Invite on May 2, ranked No. 5 in the state.

Jaden Williams, Newburgh

The junior won the triple jump at 45 feet, 8.5 inches in a dual meet with Monroe-Woodbury on April 28, ranking No. 11 in the state.

The senior won the triple jump at 45 feet, 3 inches in a dual meet with Newburgh on April 21, ranking No. 14 in the state.

Dario Kinzel, Wallkill

He was runner-up in the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches, at the Kingston Tiger Relays on April 25.

Michael Tinnie, Kingston

He won the javelin throw at 130 feet, 3 inches to win the Kingston Tiger Relays on April 25.

Kenixander Vermenton, Washingtonville

He won the high jump at 6 feet at the Marlboro Iron Dukes Relays on April 24.

Sencere Wall-Thomas, Middletown

He won the discus at 140 feet, 4 inches, at the Marlboro Iron Dukes Relays on April 24.

Crystian Zelinsky, Ellenville

He won the long jump at 20 feet, 8.25 inches at the Marlboro Iron Dukes Relays on April 24.
