We start each week of the season with a quick look back to spotlight the standout performances of the previous week. The process begins with coaches sending in nominations for the lohud Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week. I’ll narrow the field each Monday and list the finalists. You’ll vote and vote and vote and the winner gets five minutes of fame on our social media accounts.

Collin Butler, Tappan Zee
The junior midfielder sparked a 16-5 win over Briarcliff/Croton in the first round of the Section 1 Class C tournament with two goals and four assists.
Mikey Hart, Valhalla
The junior goalie shut down multiple comeback attempts, making 15 saves in the Vikings’ 14-5 win over Haldane in the first round of the Section 1 Class D tournament.
T.J. Lanese, Pearl River
The senior attackman reached 100 career goals in an 18-9 win over Nanuet in the first round of the Section 1 Class C tournament, finishing with three goals and four assists.
Tim Plunkett, Iona Prep
The senior attackman delivered four goals and four assists in a CHSAA Intersectional win over Kellenberg then added one goal and three assists in a CHSAA AA state title game win over St. Joseph’s Collegiate. Plunkett also eclipsed 200 career goals last week.
John Sykes, Rye Neck
The senior goalie came up with 16 saves, leading the Panthers to an 11-3 win over Edgemont in the first round of the Section 1 Class D tournament.
