The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office upgraded its travel advisory to a Level 2 No Unnecessary Travel Restriction for all of Livingston County due to “snow-covered roads.”
Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty issued the upgraded advisory at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, which he said will stay in effect until further notice.
A No Unnecessary Travel Restriction means that there are hazardous driving conditions, and that unnecessary travel should be avoided, according to the sheriff’s office. Livingston County roads are not closed; however, the sheriff’s office cautions drivers to be aware of the changing weather conditions.
The Sheriff warns Livingston County to slow vehicles down on the roadways and to yield to plows as they clear and salt the roads.
This advisory comes as parts of western New York prepare for heavy snow amid the ‘Megastorm’ sweeping across the nation.
