See what new candy shops are opening in Westchester this spring

Westchester is about to get a serious sugar rush. Three new sweet shops, along with an events-focused candy cart, are opening soon, bringing everything from craveable handmade chocolates to nostalgic penny candy. Even sweeter: one more is coming.

Details follow.

Chocolate House, Eastchester and White Plains

Since opening in Dec. 2024, Chocolate House has been winning over customers with its decadent crepes (try the Nutella), waffle sticks, crazy shakes (I recommend the Dubai), chocolate dips, churro bites, sundaes and cheesecakes. And now there are two more locations coming soon (ish). The first, on Mill Road in Eastchester, should open sometime in April/May with the second, on Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains, set for July. 14 Mill Road, Eastchester; 38 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, chocolatehouseus.com.

The Chocolate Chalet, Briarcliff Manor

The Chocolate Chalet, which closed last October from its long-time spot at 74 N State Road in Briarcliff Manor, has a new home in the old March boutique space. Opening in June, it will feature all your old favorites along with new items. Owner Tori Bracco told The Journal News/lohud she’s glad to be back and appreciates all the support from the community. 1207 Pleasantville Road, 914-941-4607, thechocolatechalet.net

The Village Confectionery, Sleepy Hollow

Kate Bolger was in the film and TV business for 15 years so it makes sense her new confectionary, set to open in June, is designed to feel like you’re stepping into a movie set. Her goal, she said, is to create something that makes you feel “warm and fuzzy” and taps into your inner child.

Creating an old-fashioned sweet provisions shop also means sourcing creatively so customers can expect a range of options, from penny-candies to viral sensations to artisanal local offerings to a scoop your own candy wall featuring items imported from Sweden. There will also be specialty products like licorice, Turkish Delights, ribbon candy, truffles and marzipan. Candies will be seasonal and constantly rotating so that every time you walk in, you’ll find something new. Said Bolger: “Much like a good movie, I want to create a shop that transports you.” 95 Beekman Ave., Sleepy Hollow, 914-374-3011, thevillageconfectionery.com.

Something Sweet Candy Co.

Alexa Pinsky, a recent transplant to Westchester, is opening a candy cart business built into a vintage Piaggio Ape cargo vespa scooter. The cart, currently being restored in Italy, is available for June bookings and beyond.

Pinsky, a food scientist by trade, said she’s had this idea for a while and is excited to bring it to the area. Guests will be able to scoop their own candy — a range of classics and trending treats — from the scooter. Clients can also customize their options.

Her goal is to do everything from weddings to bar/bat mitzvahs to quinceañeras. Said the new mom: “I want to introduce that delight and whimsy to parties and add something special, fun and sweet.” For more information, go to somethingsweetcandyco.com or contact her through Instagram at @somethingsweetcandyco.
