The Pistons beat the Magic, 93-79, in Game 6 on Friday at Kia Center in Orlando, after an incredible comeback from a 24-point deficit.
The series is tied at 3-3, with Sunday’s Game 7 winner moving on to the semifinals of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the winner of the series between the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers and 5-seed Toronto Raptors. Only 14 teams in NBA history have overcome a 3-1 playoff deficit to advance, including the Philadelphia 76ers, who finished their comeback by upsetting the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.
On the other hand, the Pistons are still one loss away from becoming just the seventh 1-seed in NBA playoff history to lose a first-round playoff series to an 8-seed, and the third 60-win 1-seed to lose in the first round in a best-of-seven series.
