Section V softball in action: The big hits, dominant pitchers and high-fives

Every spring, local high school softball delivers dominant performances in the pitching circle, clutch hits at the plate and defensive robbery in the field.

Softball has been scholastic sport for decades in New York, with state champions going at least as far back as 1985, according to records on the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s website.
