May in Mid-Hudson opens with some rain, giving way to sunny skies

The National Weather Service says this weekend in the mid-Hudson Valley will open with a mix of sun and rain, but then wrap up with a full day of mostly sunny skies.

The weekend will open May 2 with partly sunny skies and high temperatures around 60 degrees in Dutchess County, in the upper 50s in Orange and Ulster counties and in the lower 50s in Sullivan County.

However, there will be a 30% chance of rain or showers in all four counties, primarily after 2 p.m.

That 30% chance of rain will continue into the night of May 2 until about 8 p.m., with less than a tenth of an inch of additional rain expected.

Otherwise, the night of May 2 will be mostly cloudy in all four counties, with lows in the upper 30s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties and the low 30s in Sullivan County.

May 3 will be mostly sunny in all four counties, with high temperatures in the upper 50s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties and the low 50s in Sullivan County.

The night of May 3 will be mostly clear with low temperatures in the upper 30s in Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties. In Sullivan County, the night of May 3 will be partly cloudy, with lows in the low 30s.
