A new Salvatore’s Old Fashioned Pizzeria opens Aug. 11 at 751 Pittsford-Victor Road (Route 96) in Perinton, the local chain has announced.
The restaurant will offer sit-down service in a dining room with giant TV screens, a full bar and a large slice display. There also is seating on a large patio, and takeout and delivery service will be available.
While it was under construction, Salvatore’s CEO and founder, Salvatore “Soccer Sam” Fantauzzo, told the Democrat and Chronicle, “It’s a work of art. It’s probably the most gorgeous Salvatore’s we’ll have in our chain.”
The franchisee is Santino Fantauzzo, Salvatore’s grandson.
For the past six years, Santino has managed the Salvatore’s location in the village of Webster.
He will operate the Bushnell’s Basin restaurant with his mother, Roxanna Fantauzzo Mandell, and other family members and friends, the company said.
The grand opening is at 4 p.m. Aug. 11, when the restaurant’s $10 Daily Deal will be available: $10 for a 12-inch mozzarella pizza.
Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Silvio Fantauzzo, president of restaurant operations and Santino’s uncle, said: “I couldn’t be more proud of my nephew. He started working for me at my Webster village Salvatore’s location when he was just 14 doing prep, and he worked his way up to management, learning every aspect of the kitchen. He is more than ready for this next chapter, and I know that he will be a great operator.”
Salvatore Fantauzzo opened his first Salvatore’s pizzeria in 1978 on East Main Street in Rochester.
Currently, there are nearly 40 locations in the greater Rochester area.
