Tickets will not be sold at the door and must be purchased online at least three days before the event. People younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $58 for members, $65 for others. Admission includes a drink ticket as well as the buffet and the show. Go to https://www.gcv.org/item/corsets-crowns/.
Anyone wishing to visit the museum earlier must get a National Youth Takeover Day ticket. Members of Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012, will be admitted free that day.
The museum is at 1410 Flint Hill Road, Mumford.
The second Corsets & Crowns event will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, in the Fisher Meeting Room at Pittsford Community Library, 24 State St.
Brandon W. Brooks, a local historian who is director of programs for the Landmark Society and former curator at Genesee Country Village & Museum, will examine early forms of popular entertainment and Rochester’s history of drag, and will explore drag as both an artistic practice and a reflection of evolving cultural ideas, according to the library website.
Admission is free but registration is required. Go to https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/16816107.
