Quarterback Brandon Sorsby is once again an option for NFL teams in 2026.
Does that mean the New York Jets have interest?
New York head coach Aaron Glenn played it down already and said no. But that doesn’t mean much in the modern NFL with teams always trying to deflect and create smokescreens.
But now a report via ESPN has backed that. Could the Jets use a future draft pick to select the Cincinnati QB? ESPN reported a similar narrative that Glenn spelled out:
Clearly, this isn’t a routine player evaluation. One person close to the situation doubted the Jets’ interest, suggesting “they don’t want to deal with it.” Glenn deflected a question about potential interest in Sorsby.
The Jets have frequently been mentioned among the teams connected to Sorsby because of the team’s lack of long-term future at quarterback.
The Texas A&M quarterback was facing a potential NCAA ban for alleged gambling violations. After the NCAA initially denied his appeal for reinstatement, a judge in Lubbock County ruled in favor of Sorby’s injunction against the NCAA, making him eligible to play college football this upcoming season, according to USA TODAY Sports.
Despite that, Sorsby will not return to school and will head to the NFL via the supplemental draft, which has yet to see a date announced for it.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
