'No Kings' protests are back in the mid-Hudson Valley on March 28

Towns and cities across America and the world will be participating in “No Kings” protests again on March 28, with nineteen scheduled around the mid-Hudson Valley, according to the organization’s website.

Now, on the third occasion, after their June and October 2025 events, the protests continue to be a coordinated day of nonviolent action to target what organizers are calling the rise of political dynasties and anti-democratic power.

In October 2025’s “No Kings” protest, there were 14 locally. Five more sites have been added across Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

The “No Kings” movement was launched by Indivisible, a nonprofit coalition of political action groups, working to stand up to authoritarianism.

Here’s what to know about the March 28 “No Kings” events and where they’re happening near you.

Why are people protesting in the mid-Hudson Valley on March 28?

In June 2025, more than 2,000 protests across America coincided with a military parade President Donald Trump held in Washington, D.C.

Then, in October 2025, the organization claims over 7 million Americans joined the 2,700 “No Kings” protests in all 50 states, as a “sustained national resistance to tyranny.”

The No Kings organizers are now aiming to bring the movement back, claiming Trump has “doubled down,” and their protests are a response to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement “targeting immigrant families, profiling, arresting and detaining people without warrants.”

Additionally, these protests are a response to what the organizations claims are threats to overtake elections, guts to healthcare, environmental protections and education, “rigging” of maps to “silence voters,” the ignoring of mass shootings in communities and schools, increased cost of living while giving handouts to billionaire “allies,” and spending billions of tax payer dollars on missile strikes in other countries.

“The president thinks his rule is absolute,” reads a statement on the website. “But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.”
