New Goodwill store opening Friday in Chili

A new Goodwill store is opening at 9 a.m. April 10 in the former Big Lots in Chili Square plaza, 3170 Chili Ave.

This is the first Goodwill location in Chili, the eighth in Monroe County and the 16th across a 20-county footprint in upstate New York.

The first 100 customers ages 16 and older will get $10 Goodwill gift cards while supplies last.

The grand opening will be preceded at 8:40 a.m. by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Regular store and donation hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The 35,000-square-foot store will carry gently used apparel, home décor, housewares and more.

Proceeds from sales go to Goodwill Vision Services (formerly ABVI), 211/LIFE LINE, the Goodwill Learning Academy, 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the Good Neighbor Program, workforce development and sustainability initiatives.

“We’re excited to establish our first store in the town of Chili and reactivate this space in a new way — making it easier for residents to shop and donate for the good of our community and the environment,” said Jennifer Lake, president and CEO of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes.
