“You start every year with a goal of playing in the postseason,” UC head coach Doug Martin said. “I look back to 20 years ago when we started this thing and all the players who have played for me. This is a day that comes from a lot of hard work from a lot of people. It’s an exciting day for our University, athletic department, administration, donors and everybody who supports us. It’s a day for them to celebrate but, over the next week or so, it’s about us getting in the right mindset to go there and compete.”

This is the second time the Bearcats will tee it up in NCAA play after finishing eighth in the NCAA Las Vegas Regional in 2023. Two current Bearcats participated as freshmen in that NCAA Regional in 2023. Ryan Ford finished in a tie for 30th at Bear’s Best, while Rylan Wotherspoon tied for 44th.

The Bearcats, who have five top-five team finishes this season and won the Bearcat Invitational in September, are led by Ford, who has posted a team-best 70.15 scoring average with four top-10 finishes and all 11 inside the top 20. Sophomore Leo Wessel and senior Connor McNeely have also played in all 11 tournaments, posting a 72.00 and 73.27 scoring averages, respectively. Freshman Brayden Miller has played in all but one tournament and ranks third on the team with a 72.06 stroke average.

The Miami RedHawks will join the Bearcats in the regional.
