The Brooklyn Nets (17-54) are slowly coming to the end of their 2025-26 NBA season that has seen the team take plenty of losses due to the rebuilding nature of this campaign. Brooklyn is in the middle of its second-to-last road trip of the season and on Monday, they will be visiting the Portland Trail Blazers (35-37). The Nets come into this game following a 126-122 loss at the Sacramento Kings on Sunday in which Brooklyn lost at the end of a back-and-forth affair between two struggling teams. Rookie guard Ben Saraf led the way for the Nets to the tune of 22 points and five assists in his best game of the season while forward Ziaire Williams and guard Malachi Smith scored 18 points apiece.
The Trail Blazers enter this matchup after a 128-112 loss at the Denver Nuggets on Sunday in which Portland wasn’t able to keep up with Denver due to the numerous amount of injuries hindering their rotation. Forward Deni Avdija had 23 points and 14 assists to lead the Trail Blazers while center Donovan Clingan had 18 points and 13 rebounds in support.

Nets: OUT: Egor Demin (left plantar fascia injury management), Day’Ron Sharpe (thumb), Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring), Noah Clowney (wrist), Terance Mann (rest), Drake Powell (knee), and Danny Wolf (ankle).
Trail Blazers: OUT: Jerami Grant (foot), Vit Krejci (calf), Damian Lillard (Achilles), Shaedon Sharpe (fibula), and Robert Williams III (knee).
Advice and Prediction
The Nets are nearing the end of another rebuilding season that will hopefully result in them getting a top-three pick in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn is also dealing with plenty of critical injuries to members of the rotation, but that paves the way for younger players like rookie Ben Saraf and guard Malachi Smith to see extra playing time to end the season.
The Trail Blazers are in a different position at this point in the season as they are competing for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, but will likely end up in the play-in tournament. Portland is also dealing with some injuries to guard Shaedon Sharpe, forward Jerami Grant and center Robert Williams III, but they still have forward Deni Avdija and center Donovan Clingan available.
The Nets and Trail Blazers rank in the bottom half of the NBA in offensive rating and defensive rating, but the teams differ significantly when it comes to pace of play. Brooklyn plays at one of the slowest paces in the league while Portland plays at one of the faster paces so whoever is able to establish their style of play should have the advantage in this matchup.
