Polk Utilities issues boil water notice for area of Southeast Lakeland

Polk County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice to customers near Crews Lake Road in Lakeland after repairs were made to a damaged potable water main.

Customers who live on Marie Drive, Lana Drive and Jenny Drive near Crews Lake Road are advised to drink bottled water or boil water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before cooking with or drinking it.

The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect until an ongoing water sampling analysis has been completed. Polk County Utilities will issue a notice rescinding the boil water notice once satisfactory results have been confirmed.

As a further precaution, water lines in the area have been flushed.  For any questions or concerns regarding this notice, residents may contact Polk County Utilities customer service at 863-298-4100.
