McDonald’s is heating up its summer menu with new additions aimed at reigniting customer interest after a reported drop in U.S. sales. On Tuesday, July 8, McDonald’s added three spicy McMuffin sandwiches to its breakfast menu, introducing a fiery twist on the classic morning staple.
Each sandwich features the brand’s Spicy Pepper Sauce, also used on the popular Spicy McCrispy chicken sandwich.
The three new options include:
“These breakfast sandwiches deliver big, bold flavors,” McDonald’s said in a statement. The spicy McMuffins are available for a limited time, though no official end date has been announced.
Snack wraps return after nearly a decade
On Thursday, July 10, McDonald’s also brought back its long-missed Snack Wraps for the first time since 2016.The wraps feature McCrispy chicken strips, shredded lettuce, and cheese, all wrapped in a tortilla. They’re available in two flavors:
Customers can purchase Snack Wraps individually for $2.99 or as part of a Snack Wrap Meal, which includes two wraps, fries, and a drink.
Why the menu changes?
The new items follow news of a decline in McDonald’s U.S. sales, the largest since the pandemic. According to CBS News, the company reported a 3.6% drop in same-store sales in the first quarter of 2025, citing economic pressure on low- and middle-income customers. To win back customers, McDonald’s is leaning into low-cost, familiar favorites and bold new flavors. The return of beloved menu items like Snack Wraps — paired with spicy, limited-time offerings — is part of that strategy.
