A Massachusetts man was killed in a collision between a tractor trailer and a van on Interstate 84 on Oct. 21.
State police said the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m.

According to state police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Freightliner tractor trailer was traveling west in the right lane near exit 28 in the Town of Montgomery and was slowing to a stop due to traffic conditions.
A 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was also traveling west in the right lane, but the driver apparently failed to observe the slowing traffic and struck the rear of the Freightliner’s trailer.
The driver of the van, identified by state police as Kevin Cantwell, 71, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, was extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 47-year-old man from Springfield, Massachusetts, was not injured.
State police said their investigation is continuing.
