After nearly two months of trial, a New York jury acquitted Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but convicted him on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution.
Here’s what is coming next:
When does P. Diddy get sentenced? Sean Combs sentencing date
Sean Combs’ sentencing is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, according to court documents. In the meantime, the court and the parties are working on a pre-sentence investigation report, which, among other things, informs the judge how previous convicted felons were punished for the same crimes.
Combs is currently still in jail after the court denied him bail ahead of his sentencing. He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
What’s next for Diddy? How many years could Combs face in prison?
Combs was convicted on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. Each counts carries a maximum penalty of 10 years. He could face up to 20 years in prison.
However, it seems that he might face much less than 20 years.
Former federal prosecutor Mitchell Epner told the Associated Press that he predicts a sentence of 24 to 30 months.
Prosecutors expect a sentence of 51 to 63 months; Comb’s attorneys expect 21 to 27 months, according to Legal Affairs and Trials.
Combs is also facing over 80 civil lawsuits stemming from allegations of drugging, sexual assault, and coercion. People can’t go to prison because of civil lawsuits. These lawsuits may result in Combs having to pay money to cover damages.
