Upon arrival, officers found a dead 19-year-old man, police said.

SAPD Chief Travis Griffith said the 19-year-old found dead apparently died from gunshot wounds.

“We do have some leads that we’re following right now,” Griffith said during a press conference on video Thursday evening. “We hope that by tomorrow we’ll be able to provide more information as to what’s going on.”

Detectives are investigating, he said. Police have spoken to several individuals.

“And it’s pretty early on to tell whether or not they’re going to pan out to be anything more than that,” Griffith said in response to a question about suspects. “Folks that live in this area, we don’t have any indication of threats … to the community right now.”

The SAPD is requesting that anyone with any information contact Concho Valley CrimeStoppers at 325-658-4357. Those proving calls and tips are anonymous, and Crime Stoppers might pay a reward if information provided leads to an arrest.
