Here’s a closer look at this week’s winner and the other outstanding nominees:

Ryan Li-Fort Myers High School

Fort Myers High School is proud to recognize Ryan Li as this week’s Student of the Week, a well-rounded and driven student who exemplifies excellence in academics, leadership, and service.

From the moment he stepped onto campus, Ryan stood out for his intellectual curiosity, discipline, and genuine enthusiasm for learning. In the classroom, he consistently goes beyond expectations, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills, asking thoughtful questions, and making meaningful connections across subjects. His work reflects both depth and precision, and he approaches every challenge with focus and determination.

Ryan’s leadership extends far beyond academics. As a two-year Drum Major for the GreenWave Marching Band and an All-County clarinet player, he has played a pivotal role in the band’s continued success. His commitment over four years has contributed to top honors at Music Performance Assessments, while also setting a standard of excellence and dedication for his peers.

In addition to his musical achievements, Ryan has excelled in competitive academic organizations including HOSA, DECA, and Science Olympiad, earning recognition at both regional and state levels. He is also an active member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Chinese Honor Society, and YMCA youth programs—demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and community involvement. His GPA is a staggering 5.63 in the IB program.

Ryan’s character is equally impressive. Following Hurricane Ian in 2022, he stepped up to support his family’s restaurant during a difficult time, showing resilience, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. He continues to give back through volunteering, whether teaching chess to younger students, assisting with school events, or supporting the broader community.

Known for being empathetic, articulate, and dependable, Ryan is someone others naturally look up to. With aspirations to pursue a career in Public Health as a physician, he is well on his way to making a meaningful impact.

Congratulations, Ryan Li and go Greenies!
