ENDICOTT, N.Y. — The PGA Tour Champions brings together a plethora of highly decorated golfers from around the world. Some have won The Masters, the PGA Championship itself or the U.S. Open, while others are fighting for their first chance at a Champions trophy.
Of the 78 golfers in the mix at this year’s Dick’s Open, here are a few names to look out for on the golf course. 15 additional golfers were named alternates to this year’s tournament.
Miguel Angel Jimenez – Spain
Miguel Angel Jimenez is one of the top performers thus far in the PGA Tour Champions. Currently leading the Schwab Cup rank, he’s already won four tournaments, besting his previous three wins in one tour back in 2022.
Of the 14 events Angel Jimenez has played in his year, he’s placed in the top 10 in 11. He finished third in the U.S. Senior Open Championship, just two strokes behind winner Padraig Harrington. Harrington won three straight Dick’s Open championships through last year but is not competing this week.
The 61-year-old from Spain earned his most recent win two weeks ago at the Kaulig Companies Championship, rallying to tie Steven Alker and force a playoff. Angel Jimenez won the playoff with a 20-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole.
Bernhard Langer – Germany
Bernhard Langer has a total 43 career wins with the PGA Tour Champions, including last year’s Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The 67-year-old has won at least one tournament every year since 2022.
He’s only played in one other PGA Tour Champions event this year — The Masters. He was cut following the second round, going three above par, in his final appearance in Augusta, GA. Langer won the coveted championship twice in his career, and this year’s appearance marked is 41st.
Langer is still widely considered one of the best PGA Tour Champions golfers out there, and is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Joe Durant – United States
A four-time winner on the PGA Tour, Joe Durant is still searching for his first win of the 2025 tour. He’s had 34 top five placements in his career, including 10 runner-ups. He’s been a part of the PGA Tour Champions since 2014, and most recently won the 2024 Colorguard Classic.
Durant sits in the top 30 for this year’s Schwab Cup rankings, and the Dick’s Open will be his sixth tournament appearance this year.
Steve Allan – Australia
Steve Allan is one of the newer members of the tour, joining last year. He’s already won his first PGA Tour Champions event, taking the crown at The Galleri Classic back in March.
Allan’s placed in the top 10 five times, and was within the top five in four of those opportunities. He holds two international wins in his career, the 1998 German Open and the 2002 Holden Australian Open.
Other notables include Notah Begay III, John Daly, David Duval, Ernie Els, Lee Janzen, Rocco Mediate, Corey Pavin and many others. The full player’s field, including alternates, is available on the Dick’s Open webpage. Pairings will be released for the first round later this week.
