Girls lacrosse: See the 61 players who earned All-State honors

Sixty-one players from Section 1 and local private schools received various levels of all-state girls lacrosse honors for their play last spring, with eight earning first-team accolades.

Selections were made by the New York State Sportswriters Association. The Journal News/lohud girls lacrosse all-stars for Westchester-Putnam and Rockland were released in early July. The All-American and All-Section 1 teams were also announced in June.

Suffern midfielder Michaela Fay, the University of Maryland commit, two-time Journal News/lohud Rockland Player of the Year and two-time All-American, who recently completed her junior year at Suffern, garnered first-team Class A honors, along with teammate Jillian Terlizzi, a two-time All-American goalie, who’ll play this coming year for UConn.

Horace Greeley attacker Rowan Edson, the 2025 Journal News/lohud Westchester/Putnam Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year, who earned All-American honors last spring after being an Academic All-American in 2024, received first-team honors in Class B. She’ll play this coming year for the University of Colorado.

Five local athletes were named to the first team in Class C with Section 1 champion Nyack and runner-up Rye both having two and Somers one.

From Nyack, midfielder and two-time All-American Kate Gould, who’ll play this coming spring for Yale, and fellow Nyack midfielder Casey Cummings, who garnered All-American honors as a junior last spring and is committed to play for Syracuse in 2027, received top honors.

From Rye, the first-team nod went to two, two-time All-Americans in midfielders Caroline Doyle and Mary Sack. Next year, Doyle will play for Duke and Sack will play for Penn.

Somers’ first-teamer is midfielder Sydney Ingraham, a 2025 All-American and 2024 Academic All-American, who’ll play for Notre Dame next spring.
