Chenango Forks junior Maggie Warpus has been named Class B Player of the Year by the New York State Sports Writers Association for the 2024-25 girls basketball season.
Warpus was joined by Southern Cayuga’s Charli Bennett in Class C, and Stamford/Jefferson’s McKenna Hoyt and South Kortright/Andes’ Addy Eckert in Class D as first-team all-state selections from Section 4.
Warpus averaged 21 points per game and led the Blue Devils to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B final four and a second consecutive Section 4 title.
Bennett, a senior, averaged 27.4 points and 17 rebounds per game after returning from an ACL injury suffered last season.
A total of 30 players from Section 4 earned all-state recognition among the six classes.
