New York Giants linebacker Brian Burns expressed positive sentiments about the possibility of Odell Beckham Jr. joining the team, amid ongoing discussions of a potential reunion.
Speaking Saturday at his charity softball event at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y., which benefited the Hype 4 Life Foundation supporting families of children with autism, Burns addressed questions about Beckham.
OBJ attended the event and signed autographs for fans alongside current and former Giants players.
“That’s above my pay grade,” Burns said when asked about OBJ possibly joining the Giants. “I think he’d be a great teammate. . . It would be great to have him in the locker room.”
The comments come as the Giants navigate a rash of receiver injuries, keeping the door open for a return of the 33-year-old veteran. Beckham worked out for the team in April, and reports indicate he could be among the wide receivers participating in workouts on Monday, though that remains unconfirmed.
Head coach John Harbaugh has previously noted ongoing conversations with Beckham, emphasizing the need for a fit that benefits both sides. A reunion would add veteran experience to a receiving corps seeking stability.
