The New York state Department of Transportation has announced overnight lane reductions on Interstate 390 in Brighton, Gates, Chili and Rochester.
To accommodate paving repair work, portions of I-390 south will be reduced to one lane at night as follows:
Reductions will take place daily from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. The projected is expected to be complete by July 21.
Drivers should anticipate travel delays during this time and are advised to follow posted detours and flaggers near work zones, or seek alternate routes if necessary. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
