A live performance by a Taylor Swift tribute band scheduled for Saturday at Eldridge Park in Elmira has been moved due to weather concerns.
The Cruel Summer concert, originally set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Hilliard Stage at Eldridge Park, has been rescheduled for 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the same location as the result of a forecast for inclement weather.
The National Weather Service is calling for a 90% chance of thunderstorms off and on throughout the day Saturday in the Elmira area.
Cruel Summer is described as a high-energy live tribute band that faithfully recreates the sights and sounds of Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
The band is fronted by vocalist Alyssa Coco, who has been featured in productions including Batwoman, Netflix’s Selling Sunset, ABC’s Black-ish, Love Island, and more. Coco has toured nationally with artists such as Daughtry, K.Flay, and Paul Simon, and has also appeared on American Idol.
Admission to the concert is free, thanks to sponsorship support from the Chemung County Youth Bureau, Hale Roofing and Guthrie Health.
Family Karaoke will open the show from 1 to 4 p.m. with hosts from I DJ Entertainment.
The family-friendly event, part of Eldridge Park’s popular Family Fun Days Series, is open to the public and features lawn seating, so attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to the concert.
