Driver killed after SUV crashes into tree in Chili identified

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in when he crashed into a tree in Chili earlier this week.

Ted Karabinas, 57, of Rochester died on Oct. 22 on Sunderland Trail, when the SUV he was operating crashed into a tree along the residential road, said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy David Marcucci. Karabinas – who was alone in the vehicle – was unresponsive when first responders arrived and was pronounced dead.

The cause of collision remains under investigation, Marcucci said.

“Please keep the family and friends of the deceased in your thoughts during this difficult time for them,” Marcucci said in a news release.
