The Corning Farm Market has its first market on this Thursday, June 4 continuing through the last Thursday in November.
It is located at the Riverfront Centennial Park and goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be many vendors offering a variety of delicious fresh foods. Asparagus, spinach, spring greens, eggs, honey, fresh-baked sourdough bread, non-homogenized cow milk and goat milk, gelato, pork, chicken, beef, goat, bedding plants, fruit shrubs and trees, coffee, popcorn and house plants are just some of the items to expect at the first market.
Meanwhile, the Painted Post Farm Market continues with this Saturdays’ market. You can find the market next to the Painted Post-Erwin Museum at The Depot, 277 Steuben Street, Painted Post.
The market sets up on the grass just south of The Depot parking lot. Parking is available in the museum lot and on Steuben Street. Parking is free for this market.

This is a great time to start enjoying the fresh bounty of our area, get to know local growers, find out more about how they produce the foods you are getting from them, and possibly sign up for a CSA share. CSA is short for community supported agriculture. It is a program that some vendors offer and is a great way to support local small farms in our area.
Shopping at farmers markets is a great way to get fresh local food that is often more reasonably priced than at the grocer. Enjoy the taste of fresh and local as well as the great feeling of knowing how your foods are raised or made.
