NEW ROCHELLE — A first-of-its-kind indoor play place is opening this weekend, offering a colorful and calming environment for young children to explore.
Cloudbound, at 80 Nardozzi Place in New Rochelle, features a themed playground, a cafe and party space for children under the age of six. Developed by Sky Zone, it is among the first locations of the brand to launch nationwide. The facility will open on Jan. 24 for members and Jan. 25 to the public.
Ismael Miranda, Cloudbound’s director of operations, said the concept focuses on creating a safe, comfortable space where children can explore freely while caregivers play alongside them or relax with a coffee or sandwich as their children attend classes or participate in staff-supervised free play.
“We want them to interact and bond with their children and see those first steps,” Miranda said.
What is offered at Cloudbound?
Cloudbound includes a playground with slides and a ball pool, party rooms, cafe, quite space and nursing rooms. It offers supervised playtime and classes ranging from art and storytime to building activities.
The space is open to both members and drop-in visitors. A $149 monthly membership includes 90-minute play session and two classes per week. A first-time pass costs $10, while a standard visitor pass is $35.
Demand has been strong, with about 1,000 members reportedly signed up.
Cloudbound was developed by Sky Zone, a popular operator of more than 300 trampoline parks in U.S. and Canada, including four in the Lower Hudson Valley — Mount Kisco, Yonkers, New Rochelle and Spring Valley. Founded in 2004, Sky Zone has expanded rapidly, reporting 800,000 members and more than 45 million visitors annually.
Cloudbound offers a calming environment targeting families with young children. The New Rochelle site is leading the rollout of three other locations planned this year in Texas, Virginia and New York, as the brand expands nationally through both corporate-owned and franchised locations.
