ORCHARD PARK – James Cook, who has skipped the last four Buffalo Bills practices while protesting his contract situation, just came out of the tunnel at Highmark Stadium in uniform which is a bit of a surprise.
The running back is doing some of the usual pregame activities, but it is highly unlikely that he’s going to play in the game against the New York Giants.
Part of the reason for his hold in is that he doesn’t want to risk getting hurt before a potential contract extension is worked out. So, he’s probably going to spend the day on the sidelines with Josh Allen.
Still, the consensus belief was that he would not even be in uniform Saturday, so whether this is a step in the direction of progress in his contract negotiation, we’ll have to wait and see, but this was at least a good sign.
