Ballot propositions

New York State Ballot Proposition: Essex County Olympic Sports Complex

The amendment allows skiing and related trail facilities on state forest preserve land in Essex County. The site is 1,039 acres and requires the state to add 2,500 acres of new forest land in Adirondack Park.

A “YES” vote authorizes new ski trails and related facilities in the Adirondack forest preserve.

A “NO” vote does not authorize this use.

Union Town Proposition

This would increase the annual contribution of the Town of Union for the operating budget of the George F. Johnson Memorial Library by $336,749.10 to the sum of $1,459,246.10. It also increases the town’s annual contribution for the operating budget of the Your Home Public Library by $23,318 to the sum of $800,600 annually.

Vestal Town Proposition

This would allow Vestal’s town board to appoint a Receiver of Taxes by annual resolution for a term of one year. If the town clerk or other town official is the appointee, it will be an individual and not an office appointment, and upon such terms as agreed between the town and the appointee.
