Have a bad day? At least you are not a shirt owned by Ryan Fitzpatrick when he steps foot in western New York.
Fitzpatrick, the former beloved Bills quarterback, is an analyst for Amazon Prime’s coverage of games on Thursday.
The Buffalo Bills (3-0) took a 31-21 win over the Miami Dolphins (0-3) on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 3… and it felt like only a matter of time.
Following the contest, Fitzpatrick was on the desk on the sidelines of Highmark Stadium breaking things down. Current Buffalo QB Josh Allen eventually joined the roundtable.
Throughout it all, Bills fans that were close by kept chanting to Fitzpatrick to take off his shirt. He eventually did.
Fitzpatrick loves Buffalo. He spent 17 years in the NFL, and sure, the most success he had was with the Bills.
But it’s clearly deeper than that. Fitzpatrick just… gets it. “Fitz Magic” got the love and gives it right back to WNY.
When Allen joined the “Thursday Night Football” desk for an interview, he egged Fitzpatrick on to rip his shirt off like he has before.
Fitzpatrick did:
Once upon a time after his career, Fitzpatrick took on a Bills game in freezing temperatures but as a fan. He was in the stands at Highmark Stadium and took his shirt off. Bills Mafia went crazy about it. Since then, he’s kept doing so any time he covers a game in Buffalo as an analysis.
Fitzpatrick also has grown a strong relationship with Allen over the years and one thing led to another.
Allen joked about what unfolded after the game. While laughing about how Fitzpatrick did it, Allen said Fitzpatrick “knew he was going to do it” and called him a “showman.”
Allen’s cheek about it all can be found in the clip below:
