It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.
Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for May 11-17. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.
The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Charley Barlette
Hilton lacrosse player was credited with six goals in the Cadets’ victory over Aquinas on Friday.
Bryar Biracree
LeRoy softball player posted a four-hit shutout of Warsaw less than 24 hours after a 12-strikeout performance which dealt Caledonia-Mumford its second loss of the season. Also struck out 12 in a win at Letchworth.
Riley Brown
Rush-Henrietta lacrosse player picked up eight goals, including the game-winner with eight seconds left in regulation, to push the Royal Comets past Webster Thomas on Thursday.
Sydney Bryant
Pittsford lacrosse player converted the winning goal with six seconds to go as the Panthers tripped up defending state champion Victor on Tuesday. Bryant finished the game with three goals.
Natalie Chalk-Spoor
A junior on the Marcus Whitman outdoor track and field team, who was nominated by a reader after winning two events during the South Seneca Invitational. Chalk-Spoor won the 100-meter hurdles race 15.55 seconds and had a top triple jump of 35 feet-0 inches.
Sidney Clickner
Livonia-Avon-Geneseo lacrosse player buried six goals in Friday’s win over Section VI’s Lockport, helping her team capture its 11th straight win entering sectional play.
Brenna Goss
Fairport lacrosse player had the game-winner on a free-position attempt with 24 seconds left in the Red Raiders’ win against Brighton on Thursday.
Makenna Harris
Geneva lacrosse player finished with nine goals and 11 draw controls in the Panthers’ victory over Marcus Whitman on Wednesday.
Ka’Mara Lane
A sophomore at Padilla at Franklin, who lowered her Section V Outdoor Track and Field season-best 100-meter dash to 11.50 seconds during the Gates Chili Spartan Invitational. Lane also won the 200 dash at the meet, running that race in 23.52 seconds, also a season-best in Section V.
Sadie O’Neill
Finished with 10 touchdown passes and five point after touchdown conversions after two wins by the Eastridge flag football team. O’Neill completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 386 yards and rushed for 129 yards on 12 carries.
Ava Panek
Waterloo softball player hit her 13th triple of 2026 which set a New York state record for most triples in one season. Panek accomplished the feat in a 4 for 4 game against Newark which also included a home run and four RBIs. The previous state record was 11. Also went 4 for 4 with a home run, two triples and five RBI against Geneva.
Josslyn Siembor
Eastridge softball player hit two home runs amidst a three-hit, five-RBI performance against Gates Chili. Also logged triples against Irondequoit and Bishop Kearney and went 2 for 3 against Churchville-Chili.
