The Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association recently honored its top senior student-athletes for each high school. Chapel Field High School selected Kelly Monahan and Connor Quirk.

Kelly Monahan
Varsity sports: Volleyball; softball
Athletic honors: Volleyball – team captain; coach’s award; Softball – team captain; Section 9 team champ; Varsity Softball 845 watchlist
Academic honors, extracurricular activities: National Honor Society; student body treasurer; select vocal ensemble; American Heritage Girls Stars and Stripes award; ACEE volleyball club
Community service: At Holy Name of Mary-Assumption Church, was member of beautification committee and organized a Stars and Stripes award service project; organized aviation day and father-daughter dance events; volunteered with Operation Christmas Child and Toys for Tots; mentored with Irish American young leaders
Future plans: Ave Maria University, majoring in marine biology with pre-vet track, minoring in writing; compete in volleyball
Connor Quirk
Varsity sports: Boys soccer; boys basketball; baseball
Athletic honors: Soccer – two-time Section 9 team champs; Baseball – team captain; Section 9 champ, state semifinalist
Academic honors, extracurricular activities: National Honor Society; student body secretary; competed in National Christian Forensics & Communications Association regionals; speech and debate club; Chapel Field debate club; certified lifeguard
Community service: volunteer with vacation Bible school and Orange County Right to Life events; swim instructor
Future plans: Liberty University, majoring in aeronautics; seeking private pilot license
