New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh has high expectations for quarterback Jaxson Dart heading into the 2026 season.
As a guest on the Domonique Foxworth Show on Monday, Harbaugh shed light on how the plays he intends to run for Dart will mirror those he called for Lamar Jackson during his days at the helm of the Baltimore Ravens, and how Dart has the talent to execute those schemes.
“But now we can also get in the gun,” Harbaugh said. “We can get in the pistol and we can run RPOs. We can run quarterback-driven runs with Jaxson Dart. A lot of the stuff that we did in Baltimore with Lamar as well.”
Dart emerged as an electric dual-threat quarterback in his rookie season with the Giants in 2025. He showed the ability to throw the ball well down the field and make plays in read-option situations last season.
Protecting himself when scrambling out of the pocket was an area of concern for Dart in 2025, and that is expected to be a central focus for him next season as his development as a second-year pro comes under the microscope.
Harbaugh brings a championship pedigree and extensive experience coaching one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks the game has seen in Jackson, positioning him well to bring out the best in Dart.
