36-year-old dead after motorcycle crash in Utica

A 36-year-old Rome man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Utica. The Utica Police Department is currently investigating.

According to a statement from the Utica Police Department, at around 9:05 a.m. on July 16, Utica Police and the Utica Fire Department were dispatched to the Oriskany Street ramp off of Route 12 regarding a motorcycle accident.

According to police, it was reported that the motorcyclist lost control and struck the guard rail. 

The operator, later identified as Sean Jordan, 36, of Rome, was immediately transported to Wynn hospital where all life-saving measures were attempted. Unfortunately, Jordan succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital and died.

The Utica Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
