One person has died as a result of injuries he sustained in a residential fire in the Steuben County village of Bath on Jan. 31.
Officials said the Bath Volunteer Fire Department responded just before 11 p.m. to a fully-involved blaze at 23 Warden St., with the first arriving units confronting heavy fire in several rooms of the two-story home.

According to fire and law enforcement officials, emergency personnel located one person unconscious inside in the house.
The Bath Police Department said Derek J. Fisher, 35, of Bath, was removed from the home by first responders and rushed by Bath Ambulance and Steuben County ALS to Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath.
Police said Fisher succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
According to authorities, two village of Bath Police Department officers and a Steuben County Sheriff’s Office deputy were treated at local hospitals for smoke inhalation from the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
Numerous fire, police and emergency medical agencies provided mutual aid at the scene. The fire departments included the Bath VA department, as well as Hammondsport, Kanona, Savona and Painted Post. Bath Ambulance, Steuben County EMS, New York State Police and the sheriff’s office also responded.
The Bath Fire Department said all units were back in service by 3 a.m., Feb. 1.
The fire remains under investigation.
