Two have died following a July 7 incident involving a submerged vehicle in a pond in Waukee.
The Waukee Fire Department and Waukee Police Department were dispatched to Manchester Boulevard and N.W. Stratford Drive around 4 p.m. on July 7 to a report of a vehicle submerged in a pond. Witnesses did not see anyone exit the vehicle, according to a news release from the Waukee Police Department.
Titus Wanjala, 43, of Waukee, and River Cropper, 23, of Waukee, were removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel and transported to area hospitals. They did not survive their injuries, according to a July 8 news release from Waukee Police Chief Chad McCluskey.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the release, and no cause has been determined.
