One dead, one injured in rollover crash between Lewis and Atlantic

A Minnesota 18-year-old died and another was injured in a rollover crash in Cass County between Lewis and Atlantic, the Iowa State Patrol reported.

The accident occurred at 5:13 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the intersection of Highway 6 and 582nd Street, the report said. It said passenger Ciera Jo Bullock of Glencoe, Minnesota, was dead at the scene

According to the report, Bullock was in a 2025 Kia eastbound on Highway 6 when it left the roadway in a curve and rolled in a ditch, ejecting and fatally injuring her. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Driver Dakota Jean Bullock, also of Glencoe, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries, the report said.

The report did not say whether charges were filed.

It was the second rollover fatality the state patrol reported Saturday in Iowa. The other occurred at 2:33 a.m. in Cherokee County, killing an unnamed 15-year-old passenger who also was not wearing a seatbelt.

Another youth, also not wearing a seatbelt, was seriously injured and the driver and a third passenger, who were wearing seatbelts, suffered minor injuries, the state patrol reported.
