A late-night shooting left two people suffering from “non-life-threatening” gunshot wounds in west Ames.
Gunfire was reported around 10:43 p.m. on Monday, June 1, in the 200 block of Franklin Ave.
Ames police officers located two adult males with gunshot wounds when they arrived on the scene. Both men are believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Ames Police Department.
Police don’t believe there is an ongoing threat to the public based on the initial investigation, according to the press release. Authorities, when asked by the Ames Tribune, would not say how many people fired shots, nor would they reveal whether they had leads.
It is unclear what led to the shooting.
No arrests have been made, and police continue to investigate.
