For only the fifth time in the storied rivalry, the Cy-Hawk game will be played under the lights.
The kickoff time and TV broadcast information for that game, as well as four other Iowa State football contests were announced on May 27.
Here’s what we learned:
The Cyclones will have an opportunity to win their third straight meeting against the Hawkeyes for the first time since claiming five straight Cy-Hawk wins, from 1998-2002.
Iowa State won last season’s Cy-Hawk game, 16-13. It marked the Cyclones’ first win over the Hawkeyes at Jack Trice Stadium in 13 years. The Cyclones were also victorious in 2024 in Iowa City, winning a close 20-19 contest.
However, the Hawkeyes lead the all-time series, 46-25.
The Hawkeyes finished 9-4 last season and won the ReliaQuest Bowl. They are hunting for their first win against the Cyclones at Kinnick Stadium since 2018.
Iowa State will open the regular season against FCS school Southeast Missouri on Sept. 5 at Jack Trice Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. CT. The Cyclones will have another home non-conference game on Sept. 19, following the Cy-Hawk game, when they return home to host Bowling Green.
The game times for two Iowa State Big 12 football games have also been announced. While dates are locked in for the rest of Iowa State’s conference games, kickoff times are still to be determined. However, the Friday night games at BYU and UCF are locked in.
BYU will host Iowa State for a 9:15 p.m. CT kickoff on Oct. 9. UCF will host the Cyclones on Nov. 20 for a 5 p.m. CT. start.
