Jack Janda has flipped his commitment from Wisconsin to Iowa football, he announced Dec. 2
Janda, who attends Detroit Catholic Central High School in Novi, Michigan, is a 3-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds.
He held offers from Michigan, Indiana, Michigan State, Oregon and Miami (Fla.), among others, and committed to the Badgers as a tight end in June. But Janda committed to the Hawkeyes as a defensive lineman on Dec. 2. Iowa offered Janda in November.
As a senior, Janda accumulated 46 total tackles, 17 of which were for loss. He recorded a team-high 11 sacks. Janda also had eight catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit Catholic Central High School went a perfect 14-0 to capture a Division I state championship.
Janda is the second scholarship defensive lineman in Iowa’s 2026 high school class. He accompanies 3-star Sawyer Jezierski, who is from Edina High School in Minnesota. The Hawkeyes also have a commitment from Cedar Rapids Prairie defensive lineman David Fason, who is joining the program as a preferred walk-on.
