The 2025-26 women’s college basketball season has nearly arrived. After a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Iowa enters its second season under the direction of Jan Jensen.
Anchored by star senior forward Hannah Stuelke, who was named to the preseason All-Big Ten team, and key returnees in senior guards Kylie Feuerbach and Taylor McCabe, Iowa is expected to be one of the Big Ten’s and nation’s top teams. Stuelke averaged 12.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game last season while shooting 49.8% from the field.
In its preseason bracketology, ESPN has Iowa as a No. 5 seed. Now, in the latest illustration of respect for what this Hawkeyes squad might be, Iowa checks in as the nation’s No. 23 team in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
