Drake men’s basketball is set to play in the 2026 Hall of Fame Classic at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Thursday in a press release.
The neutral-site event will serve as a doubleheader on December 18. Drake will play Wichita State, and Iowa State will face Missouri State. Specific game times, ticket details and broadcast assignments will be announced soon, the release said.
Drake will make its first Hall of Fame Classic appearance, and the upcoming event is the 26th year of operation in Kansas City. It’s also the second time the event will be structured as a neutral-site doubleheader, according to the release.
Drake and Wichita State played 135 games as Missouri Valley Conference foes, with the all-time conference record in favor of the Shockers, 92-43, the release said. The teams’ most recent meeting came in the 2021 NCAA Tournament First Four, when Drake earned a 53-52 victory.
