Projecting Colts' starting offense before 2026 NFL draft

With the 2026 NFL draft here, let’s take a look at what the Indianapolis Colts starting offense would look like if the team had to take the field today.

With seven draft picks, undrafted free agency, and the potential for a veteran addition or two after the draft, the roster as it is constructed today will not be what we see when the Colts take the practice field in July for training camp.

However, what this exercise does prior to the draft is highlight where some of the Colts’ more pressing roster needs may lie.

Colts’ projected starting offense before the 2026 NFL draft

Quarterback: Daniel Jones

Shane Steichen recently provided a very positive update on Jones as he works his way back from the Achilles injury.

Running back: Jonathan Taylor

Can DJ Giddens secure the RB2 role? Or will the Colts have to add competition in the draft?

Wide receiver: Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, Ashton Dulin

Dulin will be competing with Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Laquon Treadwell, and likely a rookie for playing time. For now, given Dulin’s experience in the offense, he gets the nod as WR3.

Tight end: Tyler Warren

Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree will continue to see snaps as well. The Colts use their share of two-tight-end sets under Steichen.

Offensive line: Bernhard Raimann, Quenton Nelson, Tanor Bortolini, Matt Goncalves, Jalen Travis

The Colts are bullish on Travis and are banking on him and Goncalves continuing to make strides this season. Adding to the depth beyond the starting five is needed.
