Iowa football added to its 2027 recruiting class, landing a commitment from Warren Central running back Keyon Thomas.
Thomas, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound back out of Indianapolis, ran for 1,337 yards and 19 touchdowns. The Warren Central product also caught 18 passes for 184 yards and one score.
Thomas committed to Iowa over offers from fellow Power Four programs Illinois, Cincinnati, Arizona State, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
Thomas also held offers from UConn, Marshall, Ball State, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan, per 247Sports.
Thomas joins Iowa’s group of 13 commits in the 2027 class.
With the pledge from Thomas, Jay Norvell is on the board with his first high school commitment as an Iowa assistant. Norvell rejoined his alma mater this offseason as Iowa’s new running backs coach.
