The program took to X on Tuesday to announce the open spring practice date for this season: Saturday, April 25.

The open spring practice is an annual tradition for the Iowa football program, where they open up Kinnick Stadium to the general public to get their first look at the team. While media and reporters are around the team and sharing news throughout the spring, this open practice gives fans the chance to get their own two eyes on how Iowa is shaping up for the new season.

This year’s open practice figures to be an eye-opening one, as the Hawkeyes have numerous key positional battles that will be playing out. Most notably at quarterback, where junior Hank Brown and sophomore Jeremy Hecklinski will duke it out for the starting spot. The open practice will be the first opportunity for those two guys to make a statement to the fanbase.

The open spring practice is a great way to get out to Kinnick with fellow Hawkeye fans and drum up some excitement for football season. If you can’t make it to Kinnick for the practice, make sure you stay tuned to Hawkeyes Wire, which will have coverage of everything that happens throughout the day.
