An investigation is underway after Des Moines Police Department recovered a body from the Des Moines River, according to a news release from DMPD.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, DMPD and Des Moines Fire Department’s Water Emergency Team responded to a report of a person in the river.
A body was recovered near the East Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway bridge, according to the release. An investigation remains ongoing. The Polk County Medical Examiner’s office is involved.
