The return of Caitlin Clark to the Indiana Fever starting lineup following her quad injury was met with an instant infusion of success and excitement, as they won the first game she was back in action for, thanks to a great performance from her.
Since that game, things have been off with Caitlin Clark. She has been in a bit of a shooting slump, something that is unfamiliar for her in her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes and the WNBA.
The newest injury update for the Indiana Fever could be a sign of a culprit behind Clark’s shooting slump and recent struggles. In a post on their official X account, the Indiana Fever posted an update that Caitlin Clark is out for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks with a left groin injury.
Over the Fever’s last three games, Clark has scored just 11 points, 19 points, and only six points in a win over Seattle on June 24. She has shot 1-23 from three-point range over the same period and just 13-47 overall from the field, which may be attributed to the groin issue.
The Fever play back-to-back games with a home game against Los Angeles today, followed by a road game at Dallas tomorrow. Clark’s best chance to return could come on July 3, when the Fever take on the Las Vegas Aces after a few days of rest.
