As the 2025 college football season inches closer, many of those who consume the sport are firing off bets left and right. August is the month for futures wagering.
National champion picks, conference champion picks, College Football Playoff predictions — just about every season-long prop you could think of is in play. Those hoping to cash in on an intriguing 2025 Iowa football team could attempt to do so through a bevy of options.
Overall, oddsmakers don’t give the Hawkeyes much chance to win the Big Ten title game or national championship game. Which, considering neither has ever happened, it’s hard to argue with those numbers.
Iowa’s playoff numbers are interesting, though. The +650 to +900 range is certainly a long shot, although not impossible. Indiana’s preseason playoff odds were much longer last season, as was the case for SMU and Arizona State. There are stark differences in difficulty when it comes to Iowa’s playoff path versus those three, but recent evidence at least offers Iowa fans a glimmer of hope.
